What is Glutathione Antioxidant?
Glutathione is an antioxidant that is present in the body and is known as the “master
antioxidant”. As the name implies, antioxidants are substances that are capable of
counteracting damaging effects on the body. Antioxidants are nutrients (vitamins and
minerals) as well as enzymes that are believed to play a role in preventing the
development of such chronic diseases as cancer, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer's
disease,Rheumatoid arthritis, and cataracts. It also helps prevent inflammation and
disease. Glutathione injections are a very good supplement for any adult.
What happens when we are low in Glutathione?
There are many causes of glutathione levels decreasing in the body, including
environmental toxins, poor diet, stress, aging, infections, chemotherapy and pollution.
As glutathione levels decrease, and become suboptimal, supplementation becomes
necessary. Like many other effective antioxidants, glutathione is available in capsules,
tablets, and powders. However research shows that oral supplementation alone is
incredibly difficult, requiring very high doses to find any noticeable rise in levels. This is
due to poor oral glutathione absorption in the gastrointestinal tract. The only truly
effective form to increase Glutathione levels is with IV glutathione treatments.
What is Glutathione treatment used for?
Glutathione is medically used as an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory for many
diseases. Glutathione is cosmetically used to brighten and even out blotchy skin tone.
Patients also notice other benefits such increased energy and decrease in acne.
Is Glutathione safe?
Yes it is safe. Glutathione is natural and already present in your body. There are
no adverse side effects with the doses used for skin brightening.
Is it FDA approved?
No, because supplements and vitamins do not need to be FDA approved. But
Glutathione use is deemed safe by medical standards and is used in much higher
doses in treatment for several medical conditions.
How does Glutathione brighten the skin?
It is thought that Glutathione increases cell health and decreases inflammation
so drastically that one of the side effects is brighter skin. Many patients notice such a
brightening in the skin that they appear noticeably “whiter”.
How often do I have to do treatments?
A minimum of 10 Glutathione injections, over a span of 10 weeks. More
injections and/or higher doses will be needed for better results.
Oral glutathione can also be used with the initial injections to enhance results.
Daily oral glutathione supplements are needed to maintain results. Maintenance
glutathione injections are recommended monthly.
Does it hurt?
Your comfort is our priority and patients find that this is easier and more
comfortable than getting blood drawn for routine lab results. We use a small butterfly
needle to gain IV access and Glutathione is injected over a few minutes. Treatment is
quick and easy! You can resume your day right after treatment.
